inspiration for environments

Falling leaf footage

The leaves are falling, falling as from way off,
as though far gardens withered in the skies;
they are falling with denying gestures.
And in the nights the heavy earth is falling
from all the stars down into loneliness.
We are falling. This hand falls.
And look at others: It is in them all.
And yet there is one who holds this falling
endlessly gently in his hands."

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Ralph Waldo Emerson was an American Philospher, Lecturer, essayist, and poet, best remembered for leading the Transcendentalist movement of the mid-19th century. He was seen as a champion of individualism and a prescient critic of the countervailing pressures of society, and he desseminated his thought through dozens of published essays and more than 1,500 public lectures across the United States.

This is a beautiful piece of poetry and feel very appropriate to my animation especially the opening scene. I want the animation to feel autumnal and a feel for the simplicity of nature as it plays with the season...

I wrote a poem to symbolise the beauty of Autumn...

I love autumn.......
The blessings of harvest.
The slow transition from summer to autumn.
Nature at its brilliance.....
Courageous colours of joy and plentitude perform its dance of joy and glory.
The season turn puts on its coat of honour and perform a dance of thankfulness and glory.
The touch of dew in the morning gliding gently like a silent visitor.
The sun slowly seeping out of its thick blanket of fog that covers the landscape.
The nimble folly of a fox runs across the road into dense woods...
Adorned with the rich smells of fungi and empowered with the bird songs alive with the movement of foraging and preparation for the cold to come...
Autumn is my favourite time of the year...

Outside the garden path will be covered with leaves and the old eccentric librarian will be sweeping the leaves of the path. Slight sound of a whistling wind and the brushing of the leaves. As she is old the work is slow but eventually she finishes it and looks up to the sky in gratitude and takes a gasp of breath content and happy that it is done. She turns then walks to the house.
